Larry Jay Baucom

Mr. Larry Jay Baucom, age 77, of Shelbyville, TN went to be with his Heavenly Father Sunday, March 22, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 16, 1948 in Shelbyville to the late J.T. and Louise (Reed) Baucom. In addition to his parents, Larry is also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick Stephens, Bobby (Linda) Stephens, Willie Stephens, Faye (James) Brown, Mary Lou Stephens, and Hazel (Jimmy) Bogle. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, March 28th at First Baptist Church, Shelbyville. A Memorial Service will follow at 5 p.m. at the church with Brother Jeff Rasnick and Brother Dan Reed officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Willow Mount Cemetery. Larry was a Bedford County native. In his early years, he liked to hunt and fish with many friends who have now passed on. He was the owner of Baucom’s Refinishing and Lawn Care for about 40 years. He enjoyed restoring antique furniture and yard care. Larry also loved antique trucks. For many years he served as usher and greeter at First Baptist Church where he was a faithful member and enjoyed working with senior adults. He also served on the board of Historical Society and was a former Mason. Larry is survived by his wife, Frances (Stephens) Baucom; children, Jay Baucom (Rosemary), Ben Baucom (Lori), Lee Baucom (Lupe), Tina Smith (Eddie), and Tiffany Reed (Dan); grandchildren, R.J. , Michael Baucom, and Matthew Baucom, Sarah Beth Baucom, Jasmin Baucom, Brandy Swinford, (Justin), Travis (Rebecca), Lacey Reed, Haley Richardson (Justin), and Will Reed all who he cherished; great-grandchildren, Sadie Swindford, Holden Richardson, and Lilah Richardson; sisters, Linda Lamb (Rickey), and Ruth Harris (David); sisters-in-law, Cathy Stephens and Karen Stephens; and brother-in-law, Roy Stephens; and several nieces and nephews.
