Minister Gladys Katherline Brown

Minister Gladys Katherline (Kathy) Brown was born October 23, 1950, in Flat Creek to the late Frank and Virginia Brown. She is preceded in death by eleven siblings; Billy Joe, Jerry, Frank Jr., James, Jessie, Hazel, Mamie, Lou Fannie, Hattie Bell, Cleo and Carleen. She peacefully passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Shelbyville, TN. Gladys graduated from Shelbyville Central High School. After high school she went to work at Model Sportswear/Chalk Line until it closed down and then she went to work at Calsonic where she retired with 30 years of service. Gladys joined First Baptist Church on July 11, 1999, and announced her calling to the Ministry, May 10, 2002. She was ordained September 15, 2002, under Pastor Robert C. Verge. Later she became the Pastor at Thompson Grove Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her big heart, endless generosity, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. She was always putting others before herself and offering help without hesitation. She was the Matriarch of her family before her health declined. Hosting all of the family gatherings. One thing for sure we knew we were gathering at Kathy's house on any occasion. Her compassion, warmth, and big heart touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on her family and friends. Known for her big heart and caring spirit, she made everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and a heart large enough to embrace all who knew her. She loved to dance, sew, cook and entertain her family and friends. Gladys is survived by her son, Billy Joe Brown. Two siblings, Doris Elaine (Brown) Bowers and Carl Brown. Three bonus daughters; Tolondra Allison, Latasha Kearns, and Chelsi Osborne. Two granddaughters; BreOnsha and Jhiya Brown. Grandson, Billy Joe Brown Jr. Bonus grandchildren; Ikeayia Knott, Lanayshia Kearns, Alaysia Kearns, Dwight Allison, Tyshawn Benson and Jakari Boykin. A host of nieces and nephews. And a devoted friend Susie Stewart. The family will receive friends from 11 am -12 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, at Believers Faith Fellowship Church Shelbyville Campus. Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon in the church and Interment will follow at Holden Cemetery, Shelbyville, Tennessee. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is honored to be serving the family of Gladys Katherline Brown.
